About Mission Valley Swim Club

Mission Valley Swim Club (MVSC) is a private, member-owned, family-friendly outdoor swim club in the Mission Valley neighborhood of Fremont, CA.

MVSC is open from May through October for swimming and social events. Our operating hours change during the summer when school is not in session.

Lifeguards at MVSC also teach swimming lessons to MVSC members.

Position: Lifeguard

The Lifeguard is responsible for the supervision of on-site recreation activities at Mission Valley Swim Club. The job may include member assistance, education, enforcement of rules and regulations, administration of first aid and water rescue. Lifeguards are expected to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):

• Provide outstanding customer service while performing assigned duties
• Ensure the safety of all members and guests utilizing the club
• Respond to emergencies in a timely, calm, and safe manner
• Produce competent reports of incident and injuries
• Recognize hazardous situations and contact area until help arrives
• Attend training and staff meetings as scheduled
• Keeping club clean including nightly closing requirements of cleaning common areas, removing trash and recycling and sanitizing the restrooms

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old
• A valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate

Duration

• April through September
• NOTE: Hiring is normally completed by March

Rate

• $17.30/hour starting rate
